MORE THAN 5,000 JOBS, MORE THAN $600 MILLION ANNUAL ECONOMIC PUNCH

The Menominee Indian Tribe’s proposed entertainment destination center and casino at Dairyland Greyhound Park is expected to directly and indirectly create more than 5,000 jobs in the area. Studies show it will also have an annual economic impact of more than $600 million. These projections are based on industry studies and economic analyses provided by PricewaterhouseCoopers, an internationally known economic consulting firm.

ECONOMIC BENEFITS TO KENOSHA
  • Construction compensation for the project is expected to total $164 million, and support thousands of construction sector jobs. The Tribe has signed a Project Labor Agreement with the Southeast Wisconsin Building and Construction Trades Council for Phase I of construction.
  • Gaming revenues are estimated to be approximately $500 million annually.
  • In return for taking the Dairyland site into federal trust, the Tribe will make annual payments to the City and County to cover the costs of law enforcement and other municipal services. During the facility’s first 22 years of operation, the Tribe will pay to the City and County more than $521 million. This amount far exceeds the amount of tax revenue that the City and County currently receive from Dairyland.
  • A total of 3,356 full-time equivalent positions will be created with the facility, making the Menominee entertainment complex one of Kenosha County's largest employers.
  • Once completed, the Menominee will employ the equivalent of 2,929 full-time people at the facility. Businesses that rent space at the complex – such as shops and restaurants, are expected to employ an additional 427 full-time equivalent employees.
  • The Menominee Tribe anticipates its total annual payroll to be more than $138 million when the facility is completed.
  • The average salary of those employed by the Menominee, including benefits, is expected to be $47,234. Individuals employed by other businesses at the complex are expected to earn an average salary, with benefits, of $34,294.
  • Employees would be offered a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental and vision insurance; 401(k) plans; disability insurance; life insurance; child-care subsidies; employer-paid meals; and more.
  • Annually, the complex is expected to purchase nearly $75 million in goods and services, much of which is expected to come from local businesses.
  • More than 1,800 additional full and part-time jobs will be created as a result of the facility’s economic impact.
